Bering with the Sea

So I don't watch a whole lot of TV, and most of the TV I watch is on Discovery. My two favorite shows on Discovery are Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch. The good news is there are new episodes on this week! Hoody freakin' Hoo!!

There's something almost hypnotic about Deadliest Catch. Any time I watch this show I sit there with my mouth hanging open and a string of drool hanging off my lip like a three year old watching Dora the Explorer. It's weird, since I usually hate most things that come out of Hollywood, that I love this show so much.

And dirty jobs is one of the most entertaining shows anyone ever thought up. Mike Rowe is an unscripted genius! Who'd of ever thought that watching an ex-shopping network host paddle around in poo would make for better TV than all of the million dollar episodes of the latest big three network procedural medical, lawyer, or cop dramas?

Not me.

Politics

I've watched the latest of Osama Hussein Obama's retarded comments from the last few days with nothing but disgust. That fool is truly stupid and he's got diarrhea of the mouth. And the Hildebeast's attempted hoodwinking of gun owners is laughable. Good Lord, I hate this election cycle. It can't end soon enough.

How bad is it that we all are thinking that we'll actually be lucky if John Effing Mcain becomes president? Our nation is doomed, I'm telling ya.

Excuse me, but I'm going to go sit in the corner and cling to my guns and religion and antipathy to people who aren't like me and my anti-immigrant sentiment and anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain my frustrations with the beauracratic nightmare that is our government.

Screw 'em all.

I'm with ya. When we heard that crap on the news, I asked Steve, "So...what's wrong with clinging to religion and guns?" I'm all for both. If Obama meant it as a jab at us dumb, hick, po', toothless trailer trash...he forgot to take into consideration that when the bad men come, WE'RE gonna be the ones who can protect our own. And if the bad men get us...WE'RE gonna be the ones entering through the Pearly Gates.
I took no offense to it. Just shows me that he's that much more of a moron than he was the day before.

I love Mike Rowe. He's a man of many talents. (He's also the voice ON Deadliest Catch.) I watched Deadliest Catch the other day...it's fascinating. I always thought it looked boring. But what do I know...I was way into Ice Road Truckers. I'm still trying to figure out how it was so interesting.

Have you seen Ax Men?

I haven't seen Ax Men, but I'd probably like it.

Has anyone noticed that the History Channel is now just like MTV and CMT? MTV and CMT no longer show music videos, and the History channel no longer shows anything about history. Nowadays, it's all BS about global warming and super disasters and the evils of religion and reality shows like Ice Road Truckers and Ax Men.

I used to watch the History Channel almost exclusively. They had awesome shows on the Nazis and miniseries specials on different wars and ancient civilizations. Even Mail Call and Man, Moment, Machine is decent, but they don't have the oomph of the old shows the HC doesn't show anymore. I'm so disappointed.

The History channel needs to go back to educating the masses on what's gone on before. I wanna see stuff on the Nazis and the Revolutionary War and Vietnam and Ancient Egypt. Not this crap like Modern Marvels: Paint. Come on, Paint? Really? I mean, paint is neat n' all, but who gives a crap? It's a surface covering, so how exactly has it changed the world?

You bought a whole season? That's awesome!

Guess you have to switch to PBS Dan. Too bad you don't have KBYU. Then you could really whoop it up with shows like Antiques Roadshow.

I'm sorely disappointed with CMT. They used to be a good go-to channel when nothing else was on. Three music videos and then 7 minutes of commercials...all day, everyday. It was always there...reliable...constant. But now. Pthewie! You only get the videos if you happen to be awake at 4 am.
